    WHY CHOOSE IKO ROLLER BEARINGS?

    01. COMPACT EFFICIENCY

Needle Roller Bearings are bearings for rotary motion that use needle-shaped thin rollers as rolling elements. Compared to ball bearings, they have low sectional height and large load capacity. As a machine part, they help save space by making the whole machine compact. They play an important role in a wide range of products such as automobiles, motorcycles, printing machines, industrial robots and construction machinery.

    • Multiple styles and sizes available
    • Lower cross-section height and higher load capacity than traditional ball bearings.
    • Small and compact for reduced overall machine size in lightweighting efforts.
    • Widely used in packaging machines, medical devices, printing presses, industrial robots, construction equipment and other demanding applications.
    • Many styles to choose from including: radial, thrust and combined models, cam followers and roller followers.

    03. NEEDLE ROLLER BEARINGS

Needle roller bearings are known for being thin and long cylindrical rollers, resembling needles, hence the name. They are popular for their high load capacity in a small size. There are several variations of needle roller bearings, each designed for specific applications and requirements. There are other variations available, such as cam followers, thrust bearings, and yoke type bearings, to suit specific needs. When choosing a needle roller bearing, consider factors like the load capacity required, the type of load (radial, axial, or both), speed, and space constraints.

These are just some of the most common types of needle roller bearings.

    • Needle roller and cage assemblies: These are self-contained units with a pressed outer shell and a cage holding the needle rollers. The shaft and housing bore become the races for the rollers. They offer high load capacity and stiffness in a compact design.

    • Drawn cup needle roller bearings: These bearings have a thin-walled, deep drawn outer ring and a cage holding the needle rollers. They are a good option when the housing bore cannot be used as a raceway and a compact, economical bearing is needed. They typically take radial loads.

    • Machined Type: These are more robust bearings with a high load capacity due to the machined inner and outer rings. They can come with or without flanges on the outer ring. They are suitable for applications with high radial loads and require a hardened and ground shaft.

    • Combined needle roller bearings: These bearings combine a radial needle roller bearing with a thrust bearing. This allows them to handle a combination of radial and axial loads in a compact design with high load capacity.

    04. CAM FOLLOWERS

IKO Nippon Thompson offers a wide range of cam followers and rollers designed for various applications requiring smooth guided linear motion.

Standard Type Cam Followers (CF/CFKR): These are the most common type, featuring a stud with needle rollers encased in a thick outer ring. They are known for their low friction and excellent rotational performance, suitable for outer ring rotation applications. CFKR have hexagon holes on both ends, which allows tightning the nut from either side.

Eccentric Type Cam Followers (CFE/CFES/CFKRE/CRE): The eccentric stud can be rotated to create a uniform line, enabling easy adjustment for even load distribution across the outer ring outer surface.

Thrust Washer Type Cam Followers (CF…W): These incorporate a thrust washer that absorbs axial loads and prevents axial displacement.

C-Lube Cam Followers (CF…SG): These feature self-lubrication system and thrust washers which provides long-term maintenance free.

Centralized Lubrication Type Cam Followers (CF-RU1/CF-FU1): These bearings have one or two tapped holes at the end for the lubrication piping.

Cylindrical Roller Cam Followers (NUCF): These bearings have double rows of full complement cylindrical rollers in the
bearing which is suitable for heavy duty application.

IKO also offers Inch Series (CR/CRH/CR...VBS), Miniature Type (CFS), Short Stud Type (CFT) and Resin Outer Ring Type (CFL).

    05. CROSSED ROLLER BEARINGS

IKO Nippon Thompson offers a comprehensive selection of crossed roller bearings renowned for their high rigidity and accuracy.

    • High Rigidity Type Crossed Roller Bearings (CRBHV): These bearings boast an inseparable design with a single, rigid outer ring. This construction maximizes rigidity and accuracy, making them ideal for applications demanding exceptional precision and minimal deflection under heavy loads.

    • Mounting Holed Type Crossed Roller Bearings (CRBFV): These bearing designed to be based CRBHV and added with pre-drilled holes in both inner and outer rings for easier mounting and integration into various assemblies.

    • Standard Type Crossed Roller Bearings (CRB/CRBC): Featuring a two-piece split outer ring for easy handling during installation. They are available in caged and full complement designs, catering to various load capacities and rotational speed requirements. Shaft diameters typically range from 30 to 250 mm.

    • Super Slim Type Crossed Roller Bearings (CRBT): As the name suggests, these are incredibly compact bearings with a remarkably low profile (as thin as 5.5 mm) and lightweight design. They incorporate separators between the cylindrical rollers for smooth rotation. Super slim crossed roller bearings are perfect for space-constrained applications where downsizing and weight reduction are crucial.

    • Mounting Holed Type Super Slim Crossed Roller Bearings (CRBTF): These bearing designed to be based CRBT and added with pre-drilled holes in both inner and outer rings for easier mounting and integration into various assemblies.

    • Slim Type Crossed Roller Bearings (CRBS): Offering a balance between compactness and capacity, these bearings have a lower profile than standard types but are not quite as thin as super slim designs. They are suitable for applications requiring a good balance of size and load capacity.

    06. C-LUBE LUBRICATION

IKO Nippon Thompson's C-Lube system is a patented lubrication technology designed to offer extended maintenance-free operation for their linear bearings.

    • Built-in Lubrication Reservoir: C-Lube bearings incorporate a special reservoir within the bearing unit itself. This reservoir is filled with a high-performance lubricant specifically chosen for its compatibility and effectiveness.
    • Controlled Lubrication Release: The design of the C-Lube system allows for the gradual release of lubricant over time. This ensures that the rollers and bearing surfaces are continuously lubricated, minimizing friction and wear.
    • Extended Maintenance Intervals: A significant advantage of C-Lube is the extended period between required maintenance procedures. This translates to reduced maintenance costs and improved overall machine uptime.

Overall, IKO Nippon Thompson's C-Lube system offers a significant advantage for linear bearings by providing extended maintenance-free operation, reducing costs, and improving machine uptime in various applications. By understanding the system's features, benefits, and limitations, you can determine if C-Lube is the right choice for your specific linear motion requirements.
